Bondi Innovation mentor program
At Bondi Innovation, we’re launching a mentoring program to fast-track local startups by pairing entrepreneurs with experienced mentors from the Bondi area. This initiative offers an affordable way for startups to develop ideas and build solid business plans.
Mentees gain invaluable guidance, sharpened skills, fresh perspectives, and access to a powerful network—helping them stay focused and motivated. For mentors, it’s an opportunity to refine leadership, explore new ideas, and give back by shaping the next generation of entrepreneurs.
In addition to the scheduled mentor meetings, quarterly peer meetups will connect mentors and mentees to share insights and fuel growth together.
Program structure
The Bondi Innovation Mentor Program guides mentors and mentees through a process of creating value and relationships for lasting success. Participants are free to use our program structure and resources however is most useful to them.
Six-Month Mentoring Program Structure
Month 1: Introduction and Goal Setting
Meeting Agenda:
- Introductions and getting to know each other
- Discussing the mentee’s background, current situation, and aspirations
- Setting clear and achievable short-term and long-term goals
- Establishing expectations and ground rules for the mentoring relationship
- Scheduling future meeting dates
Mentee Work:
- Reflect on the initial discussion and refine goals
- Complete a self-assessment to identify strengths and areas for improvement
- Draft a personal development plan
Month 2: Skill Assessment and Development Planning
Meeting Agenda:
- Reviewing the mentee’s self-assessment and development plan
- Identifying key skills and competencies to focus on
- Discussing resources, training, and learning opportunities
- Setting specific action items for skill development
Mentee Work:
- Begin working on skill development tasks
- Research and engage in relevant training or courses
- Document progress and challenges faced
Month 3: Progress Review and Feedback
Meeting Agenda:
- Reviewing progress on skill development and action items
- Providing constructive feedback and addressing challenges
- Adjusting goals and development plans as necessary
- Discussing strategies for overcoming obstacles
Mentee Work:
- Implement feedback and continue skill development
- Apply new skills in practical situations
- Prepare a summary of experiences and lessons learned
Month 4: Networking and Professional Growth
Meeting Agenda:
- Discussing the importance of networking and professional relationships
- Identifying key industry contacts and networking opportunities
- Developing a networking strategy
- Setting networking-related goals and action items
Mentee Work:
- Attend industry events or join professional organizations
- Initiate contact with identified key industry professionals
- Reflect on networking experiences and update mentor
Month 5: Career Development and Advancement
Meeting Agenda:
- Exploring career development paths and opportunities
- Discussing strategies for career advancement and job search techniques
- Reviewing and updating the mentee’s resume and LinkedIn profile
- Setting career development action items
Mentee Work:
- Update and refine resume and LinkedIn profile
- Research potential career opportunities and companies
- Begin applying for relevant positions or seeking promotions
Month 6: Reflection and Future Planning
Meeting Agenda:
- Reflecting on the progress made over the past six months
- Discussing achievements and areas of growth
- Planning for the mentee’s continued development beyond the program
- Providing final feedback and resources for ongoing support
Mentee Work:
- Finalize and implement the future development plan
- Maintain and grow professional network
- Continue applying learned skills and seeking new opportunities
Program Conclusion:
- Celebrating the mentee’s progress and achievements
- Discussing ways to stay in touch and maintain the mentoring relationship
- Completing program evaluation and feedback forms from both mentor and mentee
